It is the classic scenery of the Pyrenees. At the height of the border between France and the Principality of Andorra, the desolate mountainous summits are observed still green in the last warmth of the clear autumn sky.
There is heard also the sound of cowbells and the occasional scream - in Catalan - of the shepherds who surround the cattle ready for arrearlo towards the vales in search of shelter for the winter.
But these shepherds have something different.
Almost all - I realize at the time that they chase to the animals along stony slopes and push them towards wooden corrals - they are older than they seem.
In fact, almost they all exceed the age of the retirement. Clearly, I was not cheated on how the Andorran elders live through a working life.
At present, not all the citizens of Andorra work hardly in the mountains like part of his daily routine.
The population of today, major that, on never having been located in 83.000 inhabitants, he inclines to be employed more at the industry of the tourism or at a bank.
Nevertheless, reasonably they all can hope to be alive beyond 80 years.
